About the work

I always work directly with the space using human body measurements in my pieces and I arrange them to create relationships between the size of the viewer and artworks in the context of architecture.

In this specific case, since the space is an artificial creation of a photo set, I decided to include a real feeling as a human factor of the exhibition.

PAIN (2020) has been created in the period of anti-pandemic lockdown and may be understood in the context of the complexity of the 'stay at home' slogan, which was meant to protect us from the virus and provide refuge. Unfortunately for those who are less privileged, who do not have nice comfortable apartments, or for those who have complicated family relationships it often led to abuse and pain, physical and mental, caused by fear and a feeling of being locked up.

PAIN is built from leftovers and scraps of aluminum honeycomb in my studio like many other works but unusual in this case is that it's the first and only of my work which includes letters.

I can say that the first sign was created by itself, accidentally, found on the floor of my studio, all the rest of the letters came naturally after P. I would like to think about this piece as an homage to real people, families living in real homes who suffer actual pain.
